Fresh Air Collection
Welcome to the sneak peak of the Fresh Air* Series. The entire collection will be available for purchase in the Hippie by the Sea shop this summer 2013. A few people have already contacted me about purchasing a piece and unfortunately due to the cost of shipping internationally here in Australia, I'm not able to ship items world wide until June 3 (when I will return to the US).If you are interested in anything you see here, please message me for price information.
(all pieces are acrylic on canvas, unless otherwise noted, and dimensions are in inches).

Title: Stories of my Soul 9x8 I took my inspiration for this piece while living abroad here in Australia. While viewing local aboriginal work in Queensland, I learned that there were stories hidden within their paintings. I decided to tell my own story through my work. This piece represents significant events from my life including: falling in love in the Florida Keys (represented by the Mangrove tree/its roots) and a large leaf (representing all the all the significant people I've met along the way during my career in public health- my second love). This piece is unique because along with acrylic paint, I used Bauxite also known as "Mangrove mud". This thick, heavy, red mud is commonly found in Africa and the Pacific Islands. Bauxite (mangrove mud) was used when painting this piece and was sustainably sourced from the local Pacific Solomon Islands. This is a smaller painting around the size of a piece of paper. Perfect to brighten up any small space. It can also be paired with other pieces on a larger wall, and would look great with or without a frame as the painting wraps around the entire canvas. Please note that due to the materials used in this painting, it has a more organic appearance. This is a one of a kind piece- only one available. |

Title: Night Sky over the Great Ocean Road 12x10 I took my inspiration for this painting from a recent road trip along The Great Ocean Road in Southern Australia. Camping next to a warm fire on the beach, bright stars, and breathtaking ocean views- this was truly the "a trip of a lifetime". This is a smaller painting around the size of a piece of paper. Perfect to brighten up any small space. It can also be paired with other pieces on a larger wall, and would look great with or without a frame. The painting wraps around the entire canvas. This is a one of a kind piece- only one available. |

Title: Blue Billabong 9x8 Small, simple piece. Inspired from living next to the Tasman Sea. This would look amazing in a nursery, bathroom, or office space. I'm in love with the Navy blue and the light blush colors here. It looks great framed or un-framed as the painting wraps around the entire canvas. |

Title: High Seas 9x8 Small, simple piece. Inspired from living next to the Tasman Sea. Would look great paired with the piece listed above or alone. The warm blue and sea foam really pops. It would look great framed or un-framed as the painting wraps around the entire piece. |

Title: Fresh Air 20x16 You could say this was the piece that "inspired it all". Taking off from Door County which borders Lake Michigan, and landing in Southern Australia, fresh off the plane from Hawaii, I was inspired by all the oceans, trees, lakes, birds, and rivers I saw along the way. Backpacking trips to Tasmania and New Zealand gave the final creative touches I needed to finish this piece. This is an extremely detailed piece that took me 2 months of working on and off to complete. Materials used include: acrylic and ink. One of a kind. |

Title: Turquoise Strength 20x16 Inspired from a road trip along The Great Ocean Road in Southern Australia. The ocean waves were spectacular and the Pacific Ocean so vast. The cold wind never stopped blowing the entire time we were there. I loved it. The turquoise color of this painting perfectly captures the colors of the ocean that day. |
